“My Spoken English Show”：听说苏外昆山校区的教职工个个深藏不露？

Final of the first "My Spoken English Show" English Speech Competition for faculty members in SFLSKS   was successfully concluded.

本次比赛旨在给老师们一次展示自我的平台，促进教职工提高自身英语口语水平，营造学校的国际化氛围，掀起学英语、说英语的热潮。

This spoken English competition aims to give all teachers and staff a platform to show themselves, promote them to improve their spoken English level, create an international atmosphere in the school, and set off an upsurge of learning and speaking English.

比赛面向苏外昆山校区全体教职员工，分为初赛、复赛、决赛三个环节，初赛、复赛各部门自行举办，每个部门选出英语口语、表达及综合能力较强者进入决赛，各层次教职员工评比标准区别对待，鼓励大家勇于开口讲英语。

最终，共有十二名选手脱颖而出进入决赛，除了学部的优秀教师们，其他部门也涌现出了大批“深藏不露”的高手，其中，总务帮厨陈阿姨流利连贯且发音标准的演讲更是令人感动与惊叹。陈阿姨表示，虽然上班期间接触英语不多，但工作之余，也会通过新闻、报纸来学习。让我们为陈阿姨点赞！

In the end , twelve members enter the final , it’s so special that everyone was touched and amazed by our school kitchen staff , Mrs.Chen’s fluent, standard pronunciation.

为了充分展现苏外昆山校区教职工的英语风采，除了部分教职工与小学部全体学生外，本次决赛还特别邀请了数名家委会代表共同参与。同时，为了确保评分的专业与公正，本次决赛的评委团由江国法校长、国际部李寒晶主任、以及外教Hugh、Kate、Moudi、Andris、Justin等组成。

   参赛选手们依次登台，时而激情澎湃，时而真情流露，时而铿锵有力，时而娓娓道来。台下的观众们听得津津有味，并对参赛选手们致以最热烈的掌声。

当选手们都演讲完毕后，江校长上台用全英文致辞。

It is the first time that contestants with different backgrounds were invited to join the same speech contest with the same criteria. Contestants include English teachers, Math teachers, administrative staff, school kitchen staff, school cleaners, and school guards. To my surprise, no matter what kind of job the contestant has, during this period, everyone joining the competition tried their best and showed their talents in spoken English. Comparing with obtaining the First Prize in the competition, creating an atmosphere to speak English and communicating in an international way seem to be more important. （与在比赛中获得一等奖相比，创造一个良好的英语沟通氛围和国际化的交流显得更为重要。）I am so glad to see all the staff gain more confidence in speaking English during this process, all the staff work together to enjoy such good international atmosphere on our campus. In addition, the positive influences from this activity on our students learning of English go far beyond what a speech competition can carry. （此外，这次活动对我们学生英语学习的积极影响远远超出了演讲比赛所能带来的影响。）Thanks for all of your hard work and contributions, hope we will have much better performance and gain more in the next competition.

苏外昆山校区第一届“My Spoken English Show”教职工英语演讲比赛到此画上了圆满的句号。相信每年持续举办教职工英语演讲比赛，能够进一步营造学校的外语学习氛围，扩大国际化视野，展现教职工良好的形象与风采！

The first "My Spoken English Show" English Speech Competition for Teachers and Staff ended satisfactorily . It is believed that holding English speech competition for teachers and staff every year can further create foreign language learning atmosphere, expand international horizons, and show the good image and style of teachers and staff!
